Seminar and workshop on “Optimizing Reverse Osmosis Performance and Reducing Operational Costs”
MIT Technical Trading Co. Bahrain, in collaboration with AWC
14 September 2026 | Mövenpick Hotel, Muharraq, Bahrain
Reverse Osmosis (RO) has become an essential technology across a wide range of water-treatment applications. However, installing an RO system is only the beginning. The real challenge lies in maintaining consistent performance, protecting the membranes, controlling operating costs and maximizing the life of the system. Recognizing the importance of these challenges, MI Technical Trading Co. (MIT), Bahrain, is organizing a specialized seminar on:
“Optimizing Reverse Osmosis Performance and Reducing Operational Costs”
The seminar will be conducted in collaboration with AWC (American Water Chemicals), USA, on 14 September 2026 at Mövenpick Hotel, Muharraq, Bahrain.
Knowledge That Makes a Difference
At MIT, we have always believed that our responsibility extends beyond supplying water-treatment equipment and solutions. Technology evolves. Operating conditions change. Water quality varies. Membrane performance can deteriorate if systems are not properly monitored and maintained.
For this reason, MIT has consistently supported its customers by providing access to technical knowledge, emerging technologies and practical solutions in water treatment and Reverse Osmosis. This seminar is another step in that commitment. Our objective is to bring together water-treatment professionals, plant operators, engineers, technical teams and industry stakeholders for a day of technical learning, practical discussion and knowledge sharing.
What Will the Seminar Address?
The seminar will focus on the practical aspects of improving RO system performance while controlling operational expenditure. Key areas of discussion will include:
- Optimizing RO system performance
- Understanding factors affecting membrane performance
- Improving membrane protection and operating life
- Managing RO operating conditions
- Identifying causes of performance deterioration
- Chemical treatment and membrane protection
- Strategies for reducing operating costs
- Improving overall system efficiency and reliability
- Practical approaches to RO troubleshooting and performance optimization
The emphasis will be on practical process concepts and real-world operating challenges, enabling participants to relate the discussions directly to their own water-treatment installations.
Learning from Industry Specialists
The seminar will be led by experienced professionals from both AWC and MIT:
Mr. Matt Armstrong
Global Sales Director – AWC
Ms. Gabriele Brummer
Technical Sales Engineer – AWC
Mr. Muhammed P. K.
MI Technical Trading Co. (MIT), Bahrain
The speakers will introduce participants to important process concepts and share technical insights relevant to improving RO performance and controlling operating costs.
Why RO Optimization Matters
An RO plant can be technically sound and still become expensive to operate if its performance is not continuously monitored and optimized. Membrane fouling, scaling, inadequate pretreatment, inappropriate chemical dosing, poor operating conditions and inefficient maintenance practices can gradually increase operating costs and reduce system performance.
The result can be: Higher energy consumption → increased chemical consumption → more frequent cleaning → shorter membrane life → higher operating costs.
Effective RO management therefore requires more than equipment. It requires knowledge, monitoring, preventive action and informed decision-making.
A Seminar Designed for Knowledge Sharing
The event is intended to be more than a conventional technical presentation. MIT and AWC aim to create an environment where participants can:
- Learn from experienced water-treatment professionals
- Understand current RO optimization practices
- Discuss operational challenges
- Exchange experiences with industry colleagues
- Explore practical approaches to reducing costs
- Gain a better understanding of membrane and process management
We believe that some of the most valuable learning happens when industry experience meets technical expertise.
An Invitation to Our Customers and Industry Friends
MIT warmly invites its customers, patrons, colleagues and friends from the water-treatment industry to participate in this specialized seminar.
Whether you are responsible for RO plant operation, maintenance, engineering, water-treatment management or technical decision-making, this seminar provides an opportunity to refresh your knowledge, explore new perspectives and interact with fellow professionals.
